WORLD ACCORDIONS - INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ACCORDION of TORRES VEDRAS

The Festival World Accordions resumes its public presentations from 27th October to 12th November, in Torres Vedras. Turn out to be distributed in six concerts, that will take place in 28th , 30th October, 4th , 5th , 10th and 11th November , two of them world premiere.
Alongside these international concerts, the city of Torres Vedras incorporates, in its daily life, daily presenting concerts in traditional places for meeting and socializing (hotels, cafes, restaurants, taverns, and others). This initiative is called "Merendas do Acordeão", where the presence of young emerging players, and also established ones, provides unds and cultures.

Those who think that the accordion represents only the basic concepts and elements of traditional music are wrong. With this festival it is possible to rediscover musical universes from all areas, from classic to pop, from jazz to contemporary.

Don't miss the concerts of Korrontzi; "Surrealistic Discussion" with two portuguese musicians - João Barradas and Sérgio Carolino; the concert born from an iberic project "Jangada de Acordeões"; Mairtin O' Connor Band from Ireland; Huiban Regis and Roland Becker from France; and the festival ends with a concert in honour of a great Portuguese lady of the accordion, whose name is Eugénia Lima.

The population of Torres Vedras is once again to be congratulated, because this festival provides the discovery and rediscovery of this great universe of music that is provided by the accordion.
